01. What is Alterland VR Collaboration?
Alterland VR Collaboration provides ready-to-use virtual offices and classrooms for remote meetings, workshops, onboarding and training. Teams meet in shared 3D environments with tools to present, discuss ideas and collaborate. The platform supports desktop access and standalone VR headsets.
02. What can our team use it for?
Use Alterland for team meetings, facilitated workshops, employee onboarding, presentations and skills development. Choose a furnished virtual office for everyday collaboration or a dedicated space for an event. You can run sessions yourself or discuss support from the Alterland Trainer Guild.
03. Do I need a VR headset to use Alterland?
No. You can join in either of these ways:
• Standalone VR: Use a supported Meta Quest headset to enter the virtual office in an immersive 3D environment.
• PC: Access the virtual office on a compatible computer using your monitor, keyboard and mouse.
Minimum PC requirements:
• Processor: Intel Core i5, 12th generation, or equivalent.
• RAM: 16 GB or more.
• Graphics card: NVIDIA GeForce GTX 1060 or equivalent.
04. Which collaboration tools are available?

05. How do I start using Alterland?
First, create your account: Open Alterland Hub in your web browser, register using your email address and password, and choose your plan and virtual office. Hub is the online account area; it is not the virtual office itself. If your employer has invited you, follow the invitation to join their organisation rather than creating a separate one.
If you are using a Meta Quest headset:
• Connect the headset to Wi-Fi and complete its normal initial setup.
• Open the Meta Quest Store on the headset, search for Alterland, and install the app.
• Open Alterland from your headset's app library and sign in with your account.
If you are using a PC:
• Sign in to Alterland Hub.
• Choose Launcher from the menu and download it. The Launcher is a small program that installs and opens Alterland on your computer.
• Install and open the Launcher, then click Download to install the main Alterland application.
• Open the installed application and sign in with your Alterland account.
06. Do we need to buy headsets for the whole team?
No. Team members can use compatible PCs without VR headsets. Minimum PC requirements:
• Processor: Intel Core i5, 12th generation, or equivalent.
• RAM: 16 GB or more.
• Graphics card: NVIDIA GeForce GTX 1060 or equivalent.
If you prefer an immersive experience, headset rentals can be arranged through Alterland hardware partners, subject to location and availability.
07. Can Alterland provide a trainer or facilitator?
Yes. The Alterland Trainer Guild connects organisations with trainers, facilitators and learning designers. You can run sessions independently or discuss support with VR setup, workshops and immersive programme design. The right expertise and availability are discussed for your project.
08. Can we customise our virtual space?
You can choose from several ready-to-use virtual offices. You cannot customise these spaces yourself. If you need an office tailored to your organisation, Alterland can create a fully personalised environment for you, including your branding and specific requirements.
09. How much does VR Collaboration cost?
Alterland offers a published Junior plan and individually quoted Trainer and Executive solutions. For the latest pricing, inclusions and conditions, see Plans & Pricing.
10. Can we try Alterland before a larger rollout?
Yes. A free single-player tutorial is available at any time in the Alterland app on Meta Quest. You can explore the experience before choosing a paid option for your team. See Plans & Pricing for the current offers.
11. Do we need technical expertise to get started?
No. For VR Collaboration, you can start with the free single-player tutorial in the Alterland app on Meta Quest. To use the collaboration platform with your team, create an account in Alterland Hub and follow the installation steps above. For an AI Partner pilot or a custom Digital Twin, contact our team to discuss your requirements.
12. Can Alterland support international teams?
Alterland's products are designed for distributed collaboration and remote access. If you need support across particular countries, time zones or languages, share those requirements during your introductory call so we can discuss the available options.
13. Can we see a demonstration before choosing a solution?
Yes. Contact the Alterland team to discuss your use case and arrange an introductory conversation. For Alterland VR Collaboration, a free single-player trial is also available in the Alterland app on Meta Quest.
14. Does Alterland provide onboarding or project support?
Support depends on the product and agreed scope. Alterland can discuss setup and facilitation for VR Collaboration, pilot planning for AI Partner and project-specific delivery requirements for Digital Twin. Tell us what your team needs when you get in touch.
To start using Alterland
as an organization owner or member, follow these three simple steps:
01. First step - Register an Account
Go to the Alterland.io website and sign up for an account.
Please note that the "Continue with Google" option is currently unavailable, so use an email and password to register or log in.
02. Second step - Create or Join an Organization
If you are the organization owner, create your organization in AlterlandHub and invite team members.
If you are a team member, you will receive an invitation to join. Follow the link in the invitation to log in and access the platform.
03. Third step - Create an Avatar
In the Alterland Hub go to the "Avatar Creator" tab and upload a photo to generate your avatar.
Customize the avatar’s appearance to match your style and preferences.
04. Fourth step - Start Collaboration
→ Alterland in VR Standalone
Install the Alterland app by opening the Meta Quest Store on your headset and searching for "Alterland." Download and install the application.
Open the Alterland app from your headset's library.
Log in using your Alterland credentials.
Explore virtual workspaces, attend meetings, and use collaboration tools directly within your headset.

To use Alterland on a PC without a VR headset:
System Requirements: Ensure your PC meets the minimum system requirements:
Processor: Intel Core i5 12th Gen or equivalent
Memory: 16 GB RAM, Graphics: NVIDIA GTX 1060 or equivalent
To start using Alterland on your PC, first visit the Alterland website and log in to your AlterlandHub account. If you don't have an account, you can create one.
Once logged in, navigate to the "Launcher" tab in the left menu to download and install the Alterland Launcher. After installing the Launcher, open it and click the "Download" button on the main page to download and install the Alterland application.
